FROM THE TRACK: Rouse Sixth after a tough weekend at Snetterton

Chrissy Rouse picked up more points with a sixth place finish as the Pirelli National Superstock Championship moved to Snetterton at the weekend.

It proved to be another tough weekend for Rouse, who managed to ride around a few issues to salvage a sixth place at the chequered flag.

Chrissy just missed out on a top 10 qualifying position and lined up 11th on the grid for Sunday’s 12-lap race.

At the green light he got a quick getaway and made up a couple of positions in the opening lap and was up to sixth by the end of lap three and had made it as high as fourth by lap sixth.

As the laps ticked by, the defending champion was unable to keep with the front group and dropped back a few places before clawing back one more on the final lap to claim sixth at the chequered flag.

“It was a tough weekend, but we actually had a solid race,” he said. “We have an area of my bike that needs improvement to go with the front guys, which we are all working to improve.

“My team, as always, did a great job this weekend, everyone pulled together as always to get the most points possible on the day.

“It’s onwards and upwards to Silverstone this weekend where hopefully we'll be more competitive”
