It’s fair to say that many ‘modular’ helmets have a rather staid design. Aimed at tourers and commuters, old-school flip-up helmets generally use more conservative vents, middle-of-the-road shell shapes and restrained overall looks.
But Simpson Helmets is changing all that, with the new Darksome. It incorporates design DNA from the legendary Simpson Bandit – with the same radical chinbar shape, grille-type vents and NASCAR-style shell shape – in a slick, flip-front design.
The Bandit became a firm favourite amongst UK bikers in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, with its super high performance and sharp aggressive looks. Now, fans of the Bandit can enjoy the same uncompromising design – in a practical, usable day-to-day flip-front helmet, with quieter, more advanced aerodynamics.Simpson has given the Darksome a full suite of top-end features, based around an advanced Maxx -3C composite main shell, with a high-tech polymer flip-up section. That makes for a very light helmet – just 1,510g, as well as an easy-to-use flip mechanism.
A central button releases the chinbar, and a sliding switch on the main shell lets riders lock the chinbar in the ‘up’ position. There’s an internal drop down sun visor, a Pinlock Maxvision insert included in the box, and the main visor has a tool-free release system. Fastening is by double-‘D’ ring strap, and the liner is fully removable and washable.

How is my item sent?
Free delivery on all orders (Mainland UK only)
If your order is over £100 or a heavy item, it will usually be delivered by DHL Express. Our back-office systems are fully integrated with our couriers which means that the second your parcel is dispatched you will be sent an email containing your tracking details. This allows both you and us to track your parcel's every move from our door to yours!
Small items and orders less than £100 are usually sent via Royal Mail, however you will have the option to upgrade the delivery service if you wish. DHL Express and Royal Mail make daily collections from our warehouse in the UK.
How long will it take to receive my order?
We always endeavor to dispatch orders the same working day where possible, if ordered before 4pm Monday to Friday. However, any goods ordered after 4pm on Fridays or over the weekend may not be dispatched until Monday. Upon purchase of your item, you will be presented with various delivery options which will inform you of the delivery timescales available.

How can I track my order?
Once your item is dispatched you will receive an e-mail/Text with a tracking number (where applicable) that will allow you to track the status of your delivery.
What happens if I’m out when you deliver?
If you are unable to be home when we deliver the courier will leave a card stating that they have attempted to deliver your package while you were out. You can then either collect your items from your local depot, whose address will be on the card, or alternatively you can contact the courier to arrange re-delivery.
Will you deliver to an alternative delivery address?
As a security measure to protect our customers and ourselves from fraud we will only dispatch items to the address where your credit/debit card is registered or if paying via PayPal to your PayPal registered address.
What if there is a problem with my product?
If you are in any way unsatisfied with the product you have received, you may return it to us for a full refund any time up to 30 days after you have received the goods providing the goods are unused and still have their original packaging. For more information about returns please see the returns tab.
We do advise that you check your goods thoroughly on receipt as you are signing to say that you received them in good condition.
If you notice any damage on the package or if you think it has been mishandled always sign as “damaged”.
What happens if I do not receive my goods?

In the unlikely event that goods are lost in transit, they cannot be classified as missing until after 7 days (14 days for International). However, liability for goods lost in transit is borne by ourselves and in this event we will either dispatch replacement items out to you as soon as the original items are confirmed as missing or we will offer you a full refund.
