HOW TO MEASURE FOR A MOTORCYCLE HELMET

To measure for a motorcycle helmet, use a tape and measure horizontally around your head, at a height of 2.5cm (1 inch) above your eyebrows. This is the largest measurement around your forehead and will allow you to select a size based on most sizing guides.

Motorcycle helmets do not come with a best-before date, however, helmets do have a maximum shelf life to ensure safety. The average lifespan of a motorcycle helmet is between 4 to 5 years before a replacement is needed.

According to current UK law, it is a legal requirement to wear a safety helmet, with relevant ECE markings when riding a motorcycle.

Second-hand helmets are not suitable for donation or resale as the full history of the helmet is not known and safety cannot be guaranteed. If requested, we will recycle your old helmet should you purchase a new one.

ARE MOTORCYCLE HELMET SIZES UNIVERSAL?

Every motorcycle helmet brand has slightly different sizing, however, their sizing guides will be similar. We recommend taking a measurement and comparing this against the specific brand's size guides before purchasing your new motorcycle helmet.

With a few exceptions, motorcycle helmets are unisex. However, women usually have slightly smaller heads than men, which means that taking an accurate measurement and buying a helmet which fits correctly is important for safety and comfort on the road.

ARE TINTED MOTORCYCLE HELMET VISORS LEGAL?

Tinted motorcycle visors are legal in the UK, however, these must be within government guidelines for the darkness of the visor. We would always suggest an un-tinted visor, to ensure the best visibility in low-light conditions.

CAN I WEAR A MOTORCYCLE HELMET WITH GLASSES?

Yes, a motorcycle helmet can be worn over glasses. Some helmets cater to glasses wearers by providing grooves or interior adjustments to increase glasses wearer comfort.
