Third and Fourth places from a successful race weekend!
Morello Racing Kawasaki's Geordie racer, Chrissy Rouse, had a brilliant weekend at Knockhill and placed third in Saturday's 24 lap race and backed it up with a solid fourth place on sunday - making Knockhill's race weekend his most successful race event of the season so far!
After being forced to drop out of the last round due to a qualifying phase crash out causing too much damage to his bike - Chrissy was out to recover the missing points at the weekend on the closest track to his hometown of Burnopfield in Tyne and Wear!
A solid fourth place qualifier gave Chrissy the start he needed, quickly pushing to the battle for second position with former BSB rider Richard Cooper, before comfortably settling into third place. Although a fairly uneventful and comfortable position, Chrissy held the spot in third for the entirety of the race all the way to the chequered flag.
Sunday saw Chrissy return to the track and immediately after the race began, Chrissy found himself in fourth place on the first corner, which he held well for five laps before pushing on by Lewis Rollo to take third!
After Rollo successfully resecured his position after three laps, Chrissy and Lewis were suddenly pushed past by Andy Reid on lap 13. With Chrissy in fifth and Rollo in fourth, the battle for fourth place began again in earnest until #69 Rouse found his way back into position, overtaking Rollo on lap 19 and holding the position for the remainder of the race.
Never failing to let us down, Chrissy had a post-race summary for us!
Over to Chrissy!
“I’d have loved another podium in that second race, but to be fair, when Andy came by he was riding very well, so I was happy to settle for a solid fourth in that one,” he said. “All in all, it’s been a really good weekend for me.
“Despite my initial fears going into the first one when I saw the display reading what I thought was medium power, the bike worked really well. I couldn’t have asked for much more there and it was fantastic to get back on the podium.
“The bike was great all weekend and I really enjoyed it. It was good to get a nice, solid weekend under my belt after the tough start of the year and it was good to be back on the box.
“I’m really looking forward to supporting the World Superbike programme this weekend at Donington Park on the full international circuit and I’ll be aiming for another strong weekend.”
