PRE-SEASON: Chrissy Rouse's 2019 - and a move to Massingberd-Mundy!

The 2019 Superstock 1000 Season

Chrissy Rouse became the headline act of the MSG Bike Gear sponsorship pool back in 2018 and we were all looking forward to seeing how the Geordie lad would put his Kawasaki to the test in the Superstock 1000 season. With the 2020 season looming and the excitement already building, we're going to take a look over the Teacher's last Superstock season!

Ending the season in 4th position on the league table with 152.5 points - we were all chuffed to bits for Chrissy, but throughout the season he was hit with some unavoidable bad luck and none were more shocking than the opening race of the championship! The very first points scoring opportunity of 2019 saw the ZX-10RR hit a technical fault during qualifying stages, which lead to (again - this is race weekend ONE!) a full engine replacement! Chrissy's former team at Morello Racing Kawasaki pulled it off just in time and with little to no testing time after the change, Chrissy pushed the bike as hard as he could. The first leg seemed to be going well, but it wasn't to last as an oil leak sprung from the bike which forced Chrissy to drop out of the second leg! The oil leak was fixed, and the second race event of the weekend got underway... determined to make up for the loss in points, Chrissy pushed the bike in the first lap to make a flying start... where he was subsequently knocked from his bike from a crash to the rear and was unfortunately pulled from the race.

That was just the start! As the season progressed Chrissy continued to push and push hard to build up the points - even taking a first place finish at Donnington Park! If this is what he can do with the bike after the issues and changes he took in his stride in 2019, we're all looking forward to seeing him run the 2020 season with Massingberd-Mundy MSS Performance Kawasaki!

Massingberd-Mundy MSS Performance Racing - Team Green

2020 sees Chrissy return to riding his favored Kawasaki ZX-10RR - but in a vastly different livery than before! Gone is Chrissy's white green and blue wonder, and enter the factory styling of the black and green ZX-10RR for this season!

Not long after the 2019 season came to a close, Chrissy was out looking for a new team to race for and it wasn't long before the Massingberd-Mundy team snapped him up to race alongside Tom Ward with the Team Green squad! I think we all have to agree that riding the ZX-10RR for another season is a great tactic, and with the backing of the MSS Performance team this should be a season to be reckoned with!

Combined with this change comes the new look for Rouse... His bold white, blue and pink gear has took a dark, strong change to the black RST race suit he'll be kitting up with for the new season. This new look brings with it a definite feeling of determination which we're sure will be mirrored in the Teacher's performances this season!
